Privacy policy

The short version

• There are no accounts and no sign-in.
• Your spells, sigils, journal and birth details stay on your device — they are never sent to us.
• We use one privacy-friendly, anonymous visitor counter. No cookies, no personal data.
• No AI, no ads, no trackers, no data sales.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in myGLYPH is stored locally on your own device — in your browser’s local storage, or the app’s — and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:

• the spells you write and the sigils you draw from them, including the artwork;
• your journal: every activation session, its length, the method you used and how you judged the result;
• the categories you create and assign;
• your birth date, time, timezone and birthplace, and the chart worked out from them — the most identifying thing myGLYPH will ever hold, and it never leaves the device;
• your settings: theme, text size, session target, which sky marks you want and whether spells are hidden.

Which means you control it

Because this data lives only on your device, clearing the app’s data — or your browser’s site data for myglyph.app — erases it permanently. We cannot see it, recover it, or delete it for you: we have never had a copy. “Forget my chart” in the chart panel really does remove your birth details.

Anonymous usage counts

To know roughly how many people use myGLYPH and which parts they open, we use GoatCounter, a privacy-first analytics service. It records aggregate, anonymous counts — page views and plain event names written into the source, such as “cast.reduce” or “lib.sec.methods”. It sets no cookies, stores no IP address, builds no profile and does not follow you to other sites. Nothing you typed can reach it: the app is built with a check that fails the build if any event name could carry text you wrote.

Fonts and other files

Every font, image and icon is served by myGLYPH itself. Unlike most websites we do not load fonts from Google or anyone else, so no request about you is sent to them. The astronomy is computed on your device from a bundled ephemeris — your birth details are never sent anywhere to be turned into a chart. The anonymous counter above is the only external service myGLYPH contacts, and the app works fully with the network switched off.

Notifications

If you allow them, myGLYPH can schedule a local reminder for the morning a spell is due to be revealed. These are created and stored on your device by the operating system — they are not sent through any server and we do not see them. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

What we deliberately do not do

• No accounts, passwords, email addresses or phone numbers.
• No artificial intelligence. Nothing you write is sent to any AI service — every glyph is drawn by you or by a mechanical construction that would give the same figure to anybody.
• No advertising, and no third-party advertising or tracking networks.
• No selling, renting or sharing of personal data — we do not collect it in the first place.
• No contacts, photos, microphone or camera. Location is asked for only if you press the button that asks for it, is used only to work out sunrise and sunset where you are, and is stored only on your device.

Children

myGLYPH is suitable for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Since all of your personal data lives on your own device and we hold none of it, you can read, export (through the share and copy features) or permanently delete it yourself at any time. If you have a question about this policy, the address below reaches us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of it and, for anything material, say so in the app.
